## Critical Context: Estonia 800€ Phantom Vehicle Law

Starting January 1, 2027, under the Mootorsõidukimaksu seadus (Motor Vehicle Tax Act), deregistering a "phantom vehicle" (fantoomsõiduk) from the Estonian transport register without an official destruction certificate (lammutustõend) will cost a state fee of 800€ per vehicle.
